5-9 JUNE
PORTICI DI VIA NIZZA
STARTING 7:30 PM
Spazio Portici – Percorsi Creativi is a project founded by Fondazione Contrada Torino Onlus and supported by the City of Turin and Torino Creativa. Launched in 2020, the idea behind the project is to transform the street arcades into open-air art galleries free of charge to the public. To date, over 50 artists have created happenings in the arcades along Via Po, Via Nizza, Piazza Vittorio, Corso San Martino, and Corso Vittorio Emanuele II. The theme of these space-specific installations is public space and its visual interpretation of graphic and video art and exhibitions of works dealing with the ability of culture to improve the quality of life and city living.
During the Festival, eight selected shorts will be shown in Via Nizza to promote cinema and environmental awareness.
Fondazione Contrada Torino was founded in 2008 as a joint initiative by the City of Turin, the University of Turin, and the Compagnia di San Paolo. It operates throughout the region of Piedmont to promote and valorize public space and to attract public and private interest in initiatives for the regeneration of urban, extra-urban, and commercial space.
