THURSDAY, 6 JUNE
CINEMA MASSIMO – MNC SALA SOLDATI
4:00 PM
The aim of the NextJournalist project, supported by the Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo and the Fondazione Giuseppe e Pericle Lavazza Onlus, is to raise awareness and educate journalists and content creators interested in treating environmental and social issues. In this second-year project, winning students present their definition of what it means to be a water defender. The climate crisis has turned water into both a source and a threat to life: extended droughts and extreme floods.
Presented and moderated by LifeGate director, Tommaso Perrone, the event will focus on how and why we can become water defenders through the dissemination and the adoption of good practices. During the event, a short film on water selected from past CinemAmbiente Film Festival programs will be shown and the photography project entitled “Deserto Italia” curated by photographer Stefano Torrione will be presented.
Following accounts by the students and their teachers, the NextJournalist partners will present new projects on water-related issues and strategies.
