In the 2022 edition, CinemAmbiente Festival celebrates its 25th anniversary which will open on Sunday 5 June, on the occasion of World Environment Day, whose 2022 theme is #OnlyOneEarth. Marlene Kunts will open the Festival in the Aula del Tempio of Mole Antonelliana, with the presentation of their new project Karma Clima, which combines music and environmental protection and involves artists and community cooperatives.
The initiative organized and promoted by the National Cinema Museum and Festival CinemAmbiente with the City of Torino, is part of the top ten events 2022, which will be broadcast live by UNEP, the United Nations Environment Program, on its dedicated website (https://www.worldenvironmentday.global).
The event will start at 20:00 at the Mole and various moments of discussion and conviviality will take place. At 9:30 p.m. it will be the turn of Karma Clima, which, as well as on UNEP’s website, will be streamed on the web channels of CinemAmbiente, the City of Turin, the National Cinema Museum, and LifeGate, which is a media partner of the event.
“In the universe, there are billions of galaxies. In our galaxy, there are billions of planets. But the Earth is only one and we have to take care of it,’ said Bruno Pozzi, Director for Europe of the United Nations Environment Program, ‘the CinemAmbiente Festival and the Karma Clima project speak to the heart and the mind and can take us all on a journey towards caring for our planet’.
At the end of the presentation, Marlene Kuntz (who are also presented at this edition as judges of the Terna Prize for the best short film in competition) will talk with Mark Grassi, UNEP Information Assistant, and with the Festival CinemAmbiente director Gaetano Capizzi about the special features of their latest work.
The National Cinema Museum of Torino organizes the festival CinemAmbiente.
Admission is free for all the events of the Festival. Reservations are required for the opening night and can be made from Thursday 2 June on www.festivalcinemambiente.it.
